THANKSGIVING 1447: Happy Thanksgiving! We have a three-part celebration this week - songs about the holiday, songs about food in general, and some musical "turkeys" like Florence Foster Jenkins. We will also hear the late Mike Nichols and Glen Larson. The first two segments have some adult (?) humor here and there.

This just came together, sorry for the short notice! Dr. Demento will be hosting a 75th Birthday tribute to the late John Fahey, Sunday afternoon, March 23 in Altadena, California (just north of Pasadena). Fahey, the highly influential guitarist and composer who originated the "American Primitive" genre merging country blues and avant-garde classical, will be celebrated in an event organized by Terry Roland and featuring guitarists Harry Taussig and Pete Steinberg along with Dr. Demento, who was Fahey's nextdoor neighbor and close friend in the 1960s, and compiled Rhino's Fahey collection "Return of the Repressed." Details at http://www.coffeegallery.com/showsat.htm (select "Schedule of Shows") and scroll down to March 23rd.
