CAFFEINE 1232: This week in our second hour we celebrate caffeine. Coffee and similar beverages have inspired many songs, including funny ones. I'm sipping coffee as I write this, in fact. Note that some of those songs are about the perils of drinking too much coffee! Also a Weird Al rarity (he sings backup on "Miniature Golf") and some Martian songs in honor of Curiosity. PARTY RECORDS 1207: In the second part of this show, Dr. Demento tells the fascinating story of "party records" - risque and titillating tunes and tales that were released by mostly independent labels from the 1930s to the 1960s (major labels wouldn't touch them). Most of these were never heard on radio when first released.
